The earliest written records proving the existence of Kremnica date only from first third of 14th century. In 1328 King Charles Robert of Anjou granted the “guests” the coin minters from Kutna Hora was not only the centre of gold and silver mining but also the seat of the Royal Mint of the Bohemian Kingdom. Shortly after their arrival, the began minting coins – the Hungarian groschen<\/em> in 1329. Eight years later, gold florents enlarged this production. They became well known as Kremnica Ducats<\/mark><\/strong>. The core of the medieval town, the “Ring<\/em>” obtained its shape at that time. The Kremnica Mint is the oldest still working company of the world from 1329. <\/p>\n
