What we collect when you use e-travel.sk, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask of us.

Who we are

The company behind this website

This website, https://www.e-travel.sk, is operated by E-TRAVEL.SK s.r.o., trading as e-travel — a family-owned incoming tour operator and destination management company registered in Slovakia. Our registered office is at Námestie Sv. Floriána 25, 013 03 Varín, Slovakia; we also work from a head office in Bratislava. E-TRAVEL.SK s.r.o. is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. If you have a question about how we handle your data, or want to exercise any of the rights described below, write to info@e-travel.sk or call +421 915 466 137.

This notice covers this website only. Sites we link to — including our sister brand bratislavacitytours.sk and the review platforms we point to — are governed by their own notices.

What we collect

What we collect and why

Enquiry forms. Most of the data we hold comes from you directly, through the forms on this site: the Request a proposal brief, the general contact form, the Žilina desk brief, the fair meeting request, the brochure request and the enquiry forms on tour pages. Depending on the form, we ask for your name, company, work email and phone number, and the details of what you need — programme or destination, travel dates, group size and type, a budget guide, the services required, hotel category, rooms and board, your source market, and any notes you add.

We use this data for one purpose: to answer your request — to prepare a tailored proposal, arrange the meeting, send the brochure or reply to your question. The legal basis is that we are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); for general questions not tied to a possible booking, it is our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us (Article 6(1)(f)). Each form has a checkbox confirming that you have read this notice. Fields marked as required on a form are the minimum we need to reply to you; everything else is optional.

What happens to a submission. When you send a form, it is emailed to the e-travel team inbox and also stored in the website’s own database, so no request is lost if an email fails to arrive. An automatic receipt is sent to the address you gave. A member of the team then replies by email or phone.

Newsletter. The sign-up in the footer and on the blog asks for a work email only. We use double opt-in: your address is stored as unconfirmed and you receive a confirmation email; the subscription becomes active only once you click the link in it. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in every mailing or by emailing info@e-travel.sk. The subscriber list is stored in the website’s own database. We send trade updates a few times a season — no consumer marketing.

Browsing. Our web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, requested page, browser type and time — which our hosting provider retains for security and troubleshooting for a limited period. Pages that show a map (tour pages and the contact page) load map images from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive your IP address and browser data; see the section on cookies and third-party services below. For these logs and for loading map images we rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).

Retention

How long we keep your data

Enquiry submissions, and the email correspondence that follows them, are kept for 24 months after our last contact with you and then deleted. If your request leads to a booking or contract, we keep the related records for as long as Slovak accounting and tax law requires. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe; you are then removed from the active list. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider.

Recipients

Who sees your data

Inside e-travel, only the staff who handle your request see it. Outside, we use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf, each for one stated purpose: email delivery, web hosting, spam protection on the forms and map tiles. We never sell personal data.

Email delivery. Outgoing emails — form notifications, receipts and newsletter confirmations — are sent through Postmark, an email delivery service operated by ActiveCampaign, LLC (USA). Postmark processes the recipient address, subject and message content in order to deliver the mail. The transfer is covered by a data processing agreement that includes the EU standard contractual clauses.

Spam protection is provided by hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc., USA) and map images by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (UK); both are described in the next section, with links to their own privacy policies. Our web hosting provider keeps the server logs mentioned above.

Cookies

Cookies and third-party services

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are self-hosted, so nothing is loaded from Google Fonts. The site sets only technically necessary cookies — for example, WordPress sets one when you log in to the site’s administration; ordinary visitors normally receive none. That is why you do not see a cookie banner here.

Spam protection. hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc., USA) runs on our forms to tell people from bots. To do that it processes technical data such as your IP address and browser information, and it may store technically necessary data in your browser. We use it on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. hCaptcha’s own privacy policy is at hcaptcha.com/privacy.

Maps. Some pages — tour pages and the contact page — show a map built with Leaflet using OpenStreetMap map tiles. When such a page loads, your browser requests the map images from the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s servers in the UK, which receive your IP address and browser data. Their privacy policy is at wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy. Where a tour page embeds a video from YouTube or Vimeo, that provider may set cookies when you play the video; most pages carry no video.

Controlling cookies. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. This site normally sets none for visitors; the only third-party storage comes from hCaptcha on the forms and, if you play a video, from YouTube or Vimeo, as described above.

Your rights

Your rights over your data

Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format and object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where processing rests on your consent — the newsletter — you can withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect the processing that took place before it.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@e-travel.sk. If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Slovak supervisory authority: Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky (Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic), Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, dataprotection.gov.sk.
