Low Tatras — Slovakia's largest national park
A 100-kilometre granite wall between the Váh and Hron valleys, the Low Tatras are Slovakia's largest national park — gentler than their High sisters, with ridge walks above the treeline, the Demänovská cave systems and bears in the remote eastern half.
Jasná on Chopok is the country's biggest and best-equipped ski resort, and in summer its cable cars, bike parks and ridge trails keep the same hotels busy — a reliable base for active groups in either season.
