Day 1: Arrival in Bratislava
Arrival at Vienna/ Bratislava airport. Meeting with your licensed guide. We provide guide in English, German, Spanish, Italian or French. Transfer to Devin Castle Area. Devin is one of the oldest strongholds of Slovakia with roots back to 9th century. During time of communism Devin was a frontier of Iron Curtain. Entrance to the castle. Evening arrival in Bratislava, check in at the 3* hotel, dinner. Overnight in Bratislava.
Day 2: Bratislava Grand City Tour & Small Carpathian Wine Route
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Discovering the historical city center of one of the youngest capitals of the European Union – Bratislava, with its rich Austro – Hungarian history. Starting with walking tour of Bratislava city center and admiring all the main monuments of the city – Primatial Palace, Old Town Hall, all the statues of the city, St. Martin’s Cathedral, Bratislava’s Opera, Blue Church and many more.
Continue by bus to Slavin Monument from where is the beautiful view on Bratislava. Transfer to monumental Bratislava Castle. Visit of baroque gardens. Departure to Small Carpathian Wine Route, one of the eight wine growing regions of Slovakia. Entrance to faire-tale castle Red Stone, exploring the city centers of wine towns Modra and Pezinok. Wine tasting in stylish local wine cellar accompanied by traditional wine dinner. Evening return to Bratislava.
Day 3: Trnava, Nitra, Banska Stiavnica, Zvolen
After the breakfast departure to “Little Rome of Slovakia“, the city of Trnava. Visit of beautiful city center of this one of the oldest royal cities of Slovakia and entrance to Basilica of St. John Baptist, which boast by the biggest wooden altar of Europe.
Continue to the oldest Slovakian city Nitra, stroll thru historical upper town of the city and entrance to Nitra Castle with Cathedral of St. Emeram. Continue to hidden gem of Slovakia, the former royal mining city of Banska Stiavnica, also well known as a city of love as the most beautiful love poem in Slovak called Marina was written here. Visit of UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE city center with entrance to the Old Castle.
Finally arrival in Zvolen, accommodation at 3* hotel and dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Zvolen.
Day 4: Banska Bystrica, Vlkolinec, Demanovska Cave of Liberty, Low Tatras
Discovering Central Slovakia with it’s center Banska Bystrica, during II. World War, the center of Slovak National Uprising. Visit of historical city center. At the edge of Low Tatras National Park and National Park Big Fatra we will visit mountain village Vlkolinec, small mountain village, part of UNESCO thanks to its wooden architecture.
Continue to beautiful Demanova Valley and entrance to Demanovska Cave of Liberty. Finishing the 4th day in Low Tatras strolling along the only glacial lake of Low Tatras – Vrbicke Pleso. Accommodation in Liptovsky Mikulas, dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: High Tatras & Kezmarok
This day will be dedicated to the highest Slovakian Mountains – High Tatras.Arrival in Tatranska Lomnica, taking the cable car to Skalnate Pleso (1751 m) from where is the beautiful view on second highest Slovakian peak Lomnicky Peak and the panorama of High Tatras. Continue to Strbske Pleso, one of the biggest glacial lake of Slovakia. Stroll along the Strbske Pleso and lunch break.
Continue to medieval town Kezmarok, where we will visit beautiful city center with it’s city castle. Entrance to wooden articular protestant church (UNESCO) and new eclectic protestant church designed by famous Austrian architect Theophil Hanssen. At the new church is buried also Imrich Tokoli, the leader of rebellion contra Royal Family Habsburg. At the end visit of gothic center of city of Poprad – Spisska Sobota.
Day 6: Kosice & Presov
After the breakfast departure to Presov, the center of region of Saris and the third biggest Slovakian city. Visit of beautiful city center with concatedral of St. Nicolas. Continue to hidden gem of Slovakia the city of Kosice, with beautiful city center. Entrance to St. Elizabeth Cathedral, the biggest church of Slovakia and stroll along the main street.
In the evening transfer back High Tatras, dinner at the hotel.
Day 6: The Spiss Region
This day will be dedicated to Spiss Region, the region full of the Gothic monuments. Firstly entrance to the biggest castle of Central Europe – the Spiss Castle (UNESCO), continue to Vatican of Slovakia – Spisska Kapitula Abbey with St. Martin Cathedral (UNESCO). The next stop will be in the small church of Holly Spirit in Zehra from 13th century with unique frescos from 13th century (UNESCO).
The full day of UNESCO monuments we will finish in medieval royal town of Levoca with entrance to basilica of St. Jacob with unique altar of Master Paul from Levoca (UNESCO). Return to accommodation and dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Zilina, Rajecka Lesna, Cicmany, Bratislava
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Zilina, the center of North-West Slovakia, walking tour of historical city center and entrance to St. Stephan Church with unique frescos from 13th century.
Continue to pilgrimage site Rajecka Lesna, where we will entrance to Slovakian Wooden Betlehem, which shows the landscape of Slovakia and the local customs. Next stop in beautiful mountain village Cicmany full of wooden houses painted by white ornaments. Cicmany is also called “gingerbread” village.
Evening arrival in Bratislava, accommodation at the hotel and dinner.
Day 8: Flight back home
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the airport and flight back home.
