Pilgrimage Across Slovakia in 6 Days: Sacred Sites, Basilicas, and Spiritual Heritage
Slovakia may be a small country in the heart of Europe, but it offers an extraordinary wealth of sacred places, historical landmarks, and peaceful landscapes perfect for a modern-day pilgrimage. Recently, a group of pilgrims from South Tyrol set out on an ambitious journey for April 2026: to explore the spiritual and cultural essence of Slovakia in just six days. Here’s a look at their itinerary — a unique path across the country that reveals the depth of Slovakia’s religious and cultural heritage.
Day 1: Arrival in Bratislava – The Capital of Calm
The journey begins in Bratislava, the charming capital nestled on the Danube River. After arrival and check-in at the hotel, the group enjoyed a welcome dinner and rested before the pilgrimage officially began.
Day 2: Sacred Sites of Western Slovakia

From there, the route continued to:
- Hronský Beňadik to visit the Basilica of St. Benedict,
- Banská Štiavnica, a UNESCO-listed town rich in mining history and spiritual charm,
